Terms of Service

Last updated: June 26, 2026

These terms govern your use of Pumkin, free and open-source desktop software from Software For Humans, LLC, operated by Lewis LaBrie ("we", "us"). By using the software you agree to them. Questions: hi@pumkin.app.

1. License

Pumkin is released under the MIT License. It is free — there is nothing to buy and no recurring fee. You may use, copy, modify, merge, publish, distribute, sublicense, and sell copies of the software, subject to the terms of the MIT License, which is included with the source. The full source is available on GitHub.

2. Third-party components

Pumkin runs AI models through Ollama and connects to tools via the Model Context Protocol (MCP). You are responsible for installing and running those components, for the models you choose, and for any MCP tools or servers you connect. We don't control the output of any model, and model output may be inaccurate — review it before relying on it.

3. Your responsibilities

4. Warranty disclaimer

Pumkin is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. It is early-stage software (v0.x) and may contain bugs. We don't warrant that it will be uninterrupted or error-free. This does not exclude any warranty that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

5. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for loss of data, profits, or business, arising from your use of Pumkin. Because the software is provided free of charge, our total liability to you for any claim relating to it is limited to zero. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

6. Changes

We may update Pumkin and these terms over time. Material changes to these terms will be reflected by the "last updated" date above. Continued use after a change means you accept it.

7. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and subject to any mandatory consumer-protection rights of the country where you live.
